PRESS CONFERENCE

"I saw character on the pitch in the second half"

The two managers gave their reactions shortly after the final whistle.

Gábor Boér:

“In the second half, the team responded very well to being a goal behind. I saw character on the pitch, which was an improvement on the first 45 minutes. We were at least on par with Vasas in terms of the number of chances we created, but unfortunately our finishing lacked quality. It's difficult when we're behind, we create chances but don't take advantage of them. I don't want to talk about the refereeing, but I feel that a legitimate penalty was not given, which is painful because it came at a stage when we were able to get the better of Vasas. I'm very disappointed with the first half because I felt the team lacked confidence. We didn't manage to implement what we asked for in attack, mainly playing long balls forward, but even so, we still had our chances. Unfortunately, we had to substitute Roland Varga due to injury. He is a player you can always count on and who represents the high quality we need in front of goal, but it would have been risky to keep him on the pitch. Congratulations to Vasas."

Gábor Erős:

“We’ve come through a tough match, in which we played well at times, but most importantly, the team once again showed its fighting spirit, with the players sliding and scrambling for each other on the pitch. We didn't concede a goal today, our fifth consecutive league game without conceding, and I can only congratulate the team. I am confident that we can continue on this path."
