Our team visited league leaders Vasas in the final match of round 12 of the Merkantil Bank Liga NB II. Head coach Gábor Boér sent Nagy G., Kocsis G., Papp, Spandler, Kojnok, Kecskés, Zsótér, Kovács B., Horváth T., Varga and Németh onto the pitch on Monday evening. Máté Kecskés, a player who came up through our own youth system, was included in the starting lineup for the first time.

The first opportunity came for our team, with Zsótér's tricky shot being cleared by Uram. In the 10th minute, Varga failed to connect properly with the ball inside the box, and two minutes later, Nagy Gergely saved Urblík's shot at the other end. In the 19th minute, after winning the ball, Pethő shot just wide of the left post, and a minute later he shot across our goal from a cross from the left as the home side threatened. In the 22nd minute, the Vasas took the lead: after a corner from the right, Milán Tóth's second attempt hit the crossbar and went into our net (1-0). In the 35th minute, Nagy saved a shot from the left, and the rebound was blocked. In the last 10 minutes of the first period, Zsótér's 21-meter shot was deflected for a corner by the goalkeeper, and in the 40th minute, Nagy Gergely saved Urblík's shot from the right side of the goal, so the teams went into halftime with Vasas leading by one goal.
During the break, we had to make a forced substitution: Roland Varga was injured and replaced by Simut. In the 48th minute, we created two dangerous chances in front of Vasas' goal within a minute, with Uram making a very smart save from Zsótér's shot on the left. In the 63rd minute, Nagy made a very good save from Pethő's header, and in the 66th minute, Kecskés missed a great chance after a corner. We saw two suspicious events inside Vasas's penalty area. In the 73rd minute, Simut remained on the ground, but no penalty was given and our player received a yellow card. In the 77th minute, another good opportunity to equalize was missed: Bedi went down to the goalline on the left side, and after his pass back, Bertók shot over the bar. In the 80th minute, Nagy cleared a ball shot in from the right, and in the 83rd minute, Zsótér's long-range free kick went wide. In the last minute of the three minutes of added time, Girsik scored Vasas' second goal (2-0) after a counter attack, sealing the match, which ended with Simut's shot going wide. The season continues on Sunday at 3 p.m. at home against BVSC-Zugló.
