We asked our young midfielder what kind of match he expects on Sunday afternoon against newcomers Tiszakécske.
"I think it was good for the team's confidence that we were able to confidently defeat Szentlőrinc in the cup in front of our own fans at home. Obviously, we want to be successful in the league as well, since we didn't start the season as we had planned, but we are still very early on. Tiszakécske has a good squad and signed many experienced players in the summer, so it won't be an easy match for us. At the same time, we are Videoton, and our only goal at home is to get the three points, and that's how we're going to approach this match. I think the international break came at a good time for us, as we were able to practice a new formation, which I feel is even better suited to the team than the previous ones. As the fans could see in the cup match, we tried to place a lot of emphasis on ball possession and were able to build many attacks from this, especially in the second half. Obviously, we still need to work on making the machine run as efficiently as possible, but we are on the right track. I am happy that I was able to start the last game. I try to give my best every time, whether I am a substitute or a starter. I don't think I've had anything to be ashamed of in any of the games I've played so far. I'll keep the same mentality in the future, and I'm confident that I'll eventually earn a spot in the starting lineup," Bence Kovács told our website.
