Videoton wins 3-1 in friendly match against BVSC-Zugló

On Saturday morning, we played our first summer friendly match against BVSC-Zugló in front of hundreds of fans at the Sóstói Stadium. Head coach Gábor Boér sent the following starting line-up onto the pitch: Nagy - Murka, Vajda, Spandler, Horváth T. - Simut, Kocsis D., Bertók, Kovács B. - Bobál, Tóth L.M.

Levente Milán Tóth and Márk Dékei are currently being signed, Dániel Bertók has been promoted from our U19 team to the first team, and a trialist player also featured in today's squad.

In the opening minutes of the match, both sides had long-range shots that missed the goal. Our goalkeeper had to make his first save in the 10th minute, when he nicely blocked a 16-metre shot. Three minutes later, Csernik found himself in a good position, but he failed to connect properly with the ball, which flew well wide of our goal. In the 15th minute, we came close to scoring when Vajda shot powerfully at goal from 16 metres after a rebound, but the ball hit the crossbar. At the other end, Nagy confidently saved Pekár's low shot.

It was good to see our team play with confidence, running a lot and attacking our opponents before BVSC reached our box, which often confused the Zugló players. In the 28th minute, after one such attack, we gained possession and they could only stop our quick counterattack with a foul. Vidi had a free kick from a good position, but Tóth's shot was saved by the visitors' goalkeeper. Two minutes later, Simut shot at goal from 18 metres, the ball was heading towards the top left corner, but Petroff made a smart save. Shortly before the break, Spandler also tested the BVSC goalkeeper, but his long-range shot did not cause him any problems.

After the break, only two of our starting players, Horváth and Vajda, remained on the pitch. We started the second half with the following players: Kemenes - Kovács, Vajda, Papp, Kocsis B., Tóth T.V., Dékei, Bedi, Kálnoki-Kis, Kecskés, Horváth T.

In the 57th minute, Csernik scored a very good goal to give BVSC-Zugló the lead (0-1). The response came immediately, with Kocsis shooting over the bar from 20 metres after Tóth had set him up. In the 66th minute, Dékei's low shot also failed to find its way into the visitors' goal. A minute later, however, the Zugló players had to clear the ball from their goal, as Kocsis' long-range shot rebounded off the BVSC goalkeeper and Tóth Tamás Vid sent a powerful shot from a sharp angle into the middle, which Benkő-Bíró deflected into his own goal (1-1).

In the 73rd minute, we were already infront. Márk Dékei scored an impressive goal from 25 metres after a rebound (2-1). Barely five minutes later, the enthusiastic Fehérvár fans were applauding another very good Videoton goal: Máté Kecskés decided to shoot from 24 metres, and his powerful shot bounced off the right post and into the net (3-1).

The score remained unchanged in the final minutes, and Videoton FC Fehérvár kicked off the 2025/2026 season with a 3-1 victory! Well done, lads! Come on, Videoton!
