Levente Szabó was born in Székesfehérvár, grew up in Sárbogárd and as a Vidi fan he used to go to the team's matches as a child. Later he played for Főnix - where he was teammates with Bendegúz Bolla and Dominik Szoboszlai - and then for ETO.

In 2015, he moved to Italy, scoring 23 goals in 54 games, winning the junior championship with Atalanta and training with the Serie A side Genoa on several occasions. He left Italy at the end of the 2018-19 season and signed for MOL Fehérvár FC in September. He made several appearances on loan for NB II side Budaörs, and officially joined Vidi's NB I squad in February 2020.
